Nicole C. Limón is an actor/director/deviser and teaches feminist, Latinx and multicultural theatre at California State University, Sacramento. She is co-founder of Movimiento Molcajete, a theatre collective committed to creating original work by and for women, and author of a one-act play and several original devised works, stories told through a contemporary indigenous perspective. She is Associate Artistic Director of Teatro Espejo, Sacramento’s Chicanx/Latinx Theatre Company, and served as the President of the Board from 2017-2019. Nicole is currently creating an UNTITLED devised theatre piece, and most recently directed SWEAT by Lynn Nottage for the Sacramento State Department of Theatre and Dance which was selected as a full production to perform at the 2021 Region VII Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival.
Nicole holds an MFA in Acting from UC Davis, and a double BA in Theatre and Ethnic Studies (concentration Native American Studies) from CSU Sacramento. She studied at the Centre for Indigenous Theatre in Toronto, Ontario, Canada where she focused on voice, movement, indigenous song and storytelling, as well as clown training. Further studies include mask making and masked performance at Dell’Arte International School of Physical Theatre, and Viewpoints and ensemble scene work with Steppenwolf Theatre School.

Recent acting credits: Rosa Flores in LYDIA by Octavio Solis; Older Dede in IN THE TIME OF THE BUTTERFLIES by Caridad Svich, originating the role of Angelica/San Miguel in LA PASTORELA de SACRAMENTO,
and performing her original devised work at NYU Tisch School of the Arts, sponsored by Women and Performance Journal.
Since 2019 Nicole has been training in Intimacy Direction, having taken workshops with Intimacy Directors International, Theatre Intimacy Education, and Intimacy Directors and Coordinators. She is committed to prioritizing safe, consent-based rehearsal and performance spaces and advancing the work of Intimacy Direction, Choreography and Education in the theatre field.
Nicole has a special interest in directing diverse, contemporary works for the stage, mentoring new and emerging artists, creating gender
parity in the theatre field, and using her platform to create opportunities for local theatre artists.
